
Did you just land at Honolulu airport and you are ready to get out on the water straight away? Stand up paddle in Waikiki is the best way to do it. Down on the southern shores of Oahu, Ala Moana beach park is the perfect place to learn how to stand up paddle in the reef protected waters. With just one or two lessons, we’ll have you balancing on the SUP board and paddling away.
We’ll pair you up with the right size board and the proper size paddle and show you how it’s done. The beautiful Ala Moana beach park in Waikiki has a large stretch of calm water that is just right for stand up paddle lessons. Before we get you on the water, we’ll go over some safety tips and show you how to hold your paddle and make good, strong strokes with it. Next, we’ll show you how to get the board in the water, get on the board and transition to standing up on the board. A lot of people are comfortable after just an hour or two on the stand up paddle board working and are ready for the open ocean. Once you find the sweet spot on board, you can set off for some open water adventures. You can find a nice easy break to practice catching waves. We guarantee you will never forget that first wave.
