Sure, we sell stand up paddle boards, but when there is a great deal out there, we want everyone who is able to take advantage of the deal and enjoy their very own stand up paddle board as often as they can. Renting stand up paddle boards in Waikiki is a great way to learn about SUP and how different size boards handle in the water, but there is nothing better than owning your own board. With your own stand up paddle board, you can go out every day and do a little dawn patrol before work. There are a lot less people out there at sunrise than you’ll find on the weekends which means more rides for you. Or, you can just paddle for miles down the beach and check out the turtles and other sea life out there.

So, where is this deal? Costco! Yep, I said it. Costco. I know what you are thinking, Costco probably has some massed produced roto mold board. Not this week. Yes, these Hoe Nalu boards are made in China, but so are the majority of the big name boards in the market. I’ve been hearing a little buzz about these SUP boards that become available for short runs every few months. I was out doing dawn patrol this morning, talking to another SUPer out at Canoes who told me about the sale going on. Today is the last day to get one of these boards until the next batch comes in. They are at the Costco at 525 Alakawa St. in Honolulu. These Hoe Nalu epoxy boards are made with EPS high-density foam with a wooden stringer to provide more strength. What makes this such a good deal is that the stand up paddle boards come with a carbon paddle, leash, deck pad and even a carrying case. The packages run between $899.99 and $999.99. That is a great deal for a new board and people give them good reviews.

I just got a new Starboard SUP Wide Point last week at Blue Planet. I paid quite a bit more than that price, but I love the board and I have been out there almost everyday, twice a day. If you missed this sale, check craigslist often and you’ll hear about the next batch that comes in. In the meantime, give me a call and make a reservation for a stand up paddle lesson in Waikiki. After a lesson and some time on our boards, you’ll be stoked to get your own board.

Aloha, Jamie
